Maine is receiving a federal grants to help it’s economy.
The state will receive over 4 million dollars to be invested in several projects aimed at improving manufacturing and development.
A joint press conference was held today at the University of Maine by senators Susan Collins and Angus King as well as Representative Bruce Poliquin to make the announcement.
It was also mentioned that an Economic Development Assessment Team will visit Maine in August to develop strategies to encourage further growth.
“It is an assessment,” said King. “To me the beginning of a solution is to fully understand and analyze the problem. What are the obstacles what, are the problems, and what are the assets of which we have many.
The University of Maine will be receiving over 3 million dollars to study wood to jet fuel technology.
