Wireless Zone Hosts Patriots Day 2013 to Promote National Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Owners Mindy and Chad O’Leary plan Football-themed Festivities to Benefit Susan G. Koman for the Cure®
Bangor, ME – In honor of October’s National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Wireless Zone owners Mindy and Chad O’Leary will host their second annual Patriots Day on Oct. 19, 2013. Football-themed celebrations will be open to the public from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the exclusive Verizon Wireless retailer located at 570 Still Water Avenue, Bangor ME 04401.
“We love when we’re able to gather as a community for a good cause, so Chad and I are very excited to host another successful event to benefit the Susan G. Komen foundation,” Mindy O’Leary said. “Our goal is to bring people together in a fun way to celebrate our community while raising awareness and funding for a disease that affects so many. We feel honored to be part of a great charity while reaching out to our neighbors in Bangor.”
Patriots Day is a nod to the New England Patriots football team. To kick off the event, four Patriots cheerleaders will be on-site to sign autographs, take pictures and perform previews of their sideline dance routines. Palmer Prints Photography will be taking professional photographs at the event, which will be available for download free of charge. Additionally, a booth will be set up providing educational material on breast cancer awareness and prevention.
Radio station K106.5 will be broadcasting live from the event and Wireless Zone will be raffling off a pair of tickets to a New England Patriots football game.
Donations will be accepted throughout the day and 10 percent of proceeds from all Wireless Zone accessory purchases will go toward Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, the most widely known, largest breast cancer organization in the United States.
This is the second time the O’Leary’s have hosted Patriots Day. The young philanthropists and entrepreneurs hosted their first event in 2011 and had a turn out of more than 500 people. The couple has been with the Wireless Zone brand since 2006 and currently own and operate five locations in the state of Maine.
The Wireless Zone® system stands behind its position of being a community partner, not just a wireless retailer. In every market, Wireless Zone® franchisees are encouraged to actively participate within their communities in addition to contributing a portion of revenue to the Wireless Zone Foundation for Giving® to support their designated charities.
