Foggy Lodge is what we call “a home away from home”. We are located on Long Pond in the town of Great Pond, Maine. This 32 X 40 post and beam structure was constructed in 2008 out of the finest materials. The foundation is a mini basement with concrete floor and walls along with an 8’ concrete pad poured which extends under the deck on two sides. The hardwood floors throughout were laid before any partitions were erected. The majority of the interior walls and ceilings are tongue and groove knotty pine. Spray foam is the insulation for all walls and ceiling creating a space that is cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The great room, dining room is cathedral ceiling with a fan and side lights. It looks out onto the decks and pond. On the first floor is a master bedroom with walk-in closet and bath, a utility room with washer and dryer and counter top with cabinets along with a half bath with pocket door. The kitchen area has the stove, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher, black in color. In addition there is an island with a sink and seating for six. There is a large pantry and a large amount of cupboard space and counter top along the outside wall. There is a broom and storage closet located under the stairs going to the second floor. An all oak 4’ wide set of stairs goes to the up-stairs (20’ X 32’) with two bedrooms with a shared bath. There are built in drawers and storage areas. All interior doors are pocket doors that lock. There is a landing, sitting area which looks down on the living room and out the upper windows to the pond. It is wired for cable, satellite, Wi-Fi and telephone (fiber optic). Smoke and fire detectors are hard wired. It has a Rinnai on demand propane hot water heater along with two Rinnai propane gas heaters. There is also a pellet stove.
On the outside you have 60’ of 8’ deck. Part (24’) is screened in and has two fans to keep you cool. The siding is a high grade vinyl and all finish trim is metal so there is no maintenance. The roof is metal so no problems with snow load. There is a generator under the home with a 200 amp transfer switch in the utility room. There are several outside receptacles and two outside faucets. There is an unattached one car garage. There is parking for several vehicles.
You are 100’ away from trophy brook trout fishing. There is a permanent dock with deep-water. There are snowmobile trails close by and ATV trails. You are allowed to ride ATVs and snowmobiles on the main road in Great Pond. It is quiet as you are 1.5 miles from the main road and there is only one home beyond this property. You have 1.06 acres and 259’ of shore frontage. Should you want to travel 45 minutes to one hour, you can go to Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, City of Ellsworth or to the City of Bangor with shopping, concerts, and a casino. Make this your “home away from home”.
