Sunday we kept the sunshine around for most the day, clouds are on the increase this evening.
Sunday we will have to watch our next weather maker, a cold front out of the west, while Sunday will start off sunny with highs in the low 70s to low 80s.
The ridge of high pressure that brought the sunny and pleasant conditions to Maine Friday will continue to control the weather across our area Saturday.
Finally made it to the end of the work week and we are going to be rewarded today right into the weekend.
As a weak cold front moves offshore this evening any widely scattered showers and thundershowers will come to an end.
A quiet start to the day today, most of us are starting off with clear skies with a few places seeing patchy dense fog.
As the storm system that brought the rain to Maine last night and earlier today continues to slide northeast though the Canadian Maritimes the skies throughout our area will become partly cloudy tonight.
Today will be our mid week transition day, heavy rain this morning will taper off to showers during the morning hours.
A storm system moving east across Northern New England will likely bring a much needed soaking rain to most of Maine tonight and early tomorrow.

High pressure will slide to our east today.
A weak ridge of high pressure will move east through New England tonight.
We’ll see a mix of sun and clouds this afternoon as high pressure builds into the region.
Across Maine, we have a stalled out frontal system that is acting as a trigger to showers and thunderstorms.
Not the best weekend setting up, mostly cloudy skies and scattered showers will put a bit of a damper on any weekend plans.
A cold front will continue to slowly move southward across the state bringing us some showers and thunderstorms throughout the afternoon and evening.
A cold front located across northern parts of Maine today divided the very hot and humid air south of the front to the cooler and less humid air north of the front.
A cold front will slowly drop southward across the state today giving us a chance for some scattered showers and thunderstorms.
An upper level disturbance brought some clouds and scattered showers to much of southern and central Maine today, while at the same time it was mostly sunny over northern parts of the state.
South/southwesterly winds will continue to usher a more humid airmass into the region this afternoon.
High pressure brought mostly sunny skies and pleasant temps to our area today as it moved southeast across New England.
