Updated 1 month ago

From the TV 5 Forecast Center:

Cooler air, more seasonable air has returned to the state in the wake of yesterday’s cold front. Temperatures today will average about 10° cooler than yesterday’s highs. We’ll start out with mostly sunny skies this morning followed by increasing clouds later this morning into this afternoon as an upper level disturbance approaches from the west. The disturbance will cross the state during the afternoon and evening and could trigger a shower over northern and northwestern areas otherwise it will be a dry day for most locales. Temperatures will top off in the 50s to low 60s for highs this afternoon. We’ll see clear to partly cloudy skies for the night tonight with temperatures ranging from the mid-30s to low 40s from north to south for overnight lows.

Fair, Breezy & Cooler the Next Few Days

Chris Ewing

Updated 1 month ago

From the WABI-TV5 & CW Forecast Center:

A west/southwest breeze will continue today which will allow cooler air to continue to spill into all of New England for the rest of the workweek. High temps today through Saturday will likely hold in the 50s to near 60 despite partly sunny skies each day. There will be a storm riding northeast from the Tennessee River Valley Friday and moving off the Mid-Atlantic Coastline early Saturday. It appears the storms precipitation shield will remain south of our region early Saturday, but a storm track a little north of current projections would bring the chance of some showers to much of our region as we begin the holiday weekend, with southern and coastal Maine having the best shot of seeing the wet weather.

Few Showers Today, Steadier Rain Wednesday

Todd Simcox

Updated 2 months ago

From the TV 5 Forecast Center:

A disturbance passing to our north and west will keep us under partly to mostly cloudy skies and the chance for some scattered showers for the rest of the day. The best chance for any sunshine will be Downeast and the best chance for showers will be for areas north and west of Bangor. Southerly winds will be gusty this afternoon and will usher milder air into the region so despite seeing lots of clouds in most spots, temperatures will run mid to upper 60s in many spots this afternoon with cooler temperatures over northern and western areas where showers are more prevalent. We’ll continue to see clouds and scattered showers tonight as the disturbance moves away. Temperatures will only drop to the mid-50s for overnight lows.

Jessica Conley

As a front moves through the region today, we’ll see some rain and drizzle. Tonight it’ll be much colder behind the cold front with overnight lows dropping into the 30s across the majority of our area. Plenty of sunshine Monday in the wake of the front and with a ridge of high pressure keeping us mainly cloud free. Early sun Tuesday then evening clouds as another cold front moves though overnight into Wednesday. Looks gray and rainy again for Wednesday, then another mainly sunny day for Thursday. Temps through Wednesday stay in the low to mid 60s for highs, but by Thursday, highs only reach the upper 50s and low 60s. Still no snow in the forecast, but I have a feeling that will change very soon. Who’s ready?

Some Clouds Today, Brighter Tomorrow and Friday

Jessica Conley

Updated 2 months ago

A high pressure system to our north hasn’t been quite strong enough to bring us much sunshine today, but tomorrow does look better! We could see a couple showers in far Southern Maine today, but it looks like the rest of us will stay mostly dry. Thursday and Friday look brighter as the ridge of high pressure brings more sunshine to the region. By Saturday we may see some sun to start, but it is looking like a cold front will cross the area setting of some rain for Saturday evening into Sunday morning. By Sunday night, things clear out again, setting us up for a nice day on Monday. High temps stay around normal (low to mid 60s) this week.

Bit Brighter & Milder Wednesday

Chris Ewing

From the WABI-TV5 & CW Forecast Center:

The combination of high pressure to our northeast and a storm centered well southeast of New England kept Maine in a cool and damp northeasterly airflow today. The combination of the clouds and the onshore breeze held the temps in the 50s for highs across most of our region today. The onshore breeze will lead to cloudy skies along with patchy fog and drizzle tonight across most of Maine, with low temps holding in the 40s.

High pressure centered to our north and low pressure centered to our south will combine to keep us under the cool, damp northeast wind today. The cloudy and cool weather will continue with some patchy drizzle throughout the day. Temperatures have struggled just to get into the low 50s in many spots as of lunchtime so I’ve lowered the highs for the day with most locales only expected to reach the low to mid-50s this afternoon. Skies will remain cloudy tonight with patchy fog and drizzle and lows in the mid-40s to low 50s.

Cloudy and cool weather will continue today with a few showers possible mainly during the first half of the day. Temperatures will only reach the mid-50s to around 60° for highs this afternoon. A disturbance moving through the area Wednesday will give us a cloudy start to the day with a few showers possible especially during the morning hours. Brighter conditions can be expected over the northern half of the state as high pressure noses in from the north. Temperatures will be more seasonable Wednesday with highs in the low to mid-60s. High pressure building into the area will give us some pleasant weather on Thursday and Friday. We could see some wet weather moving into the area for the upcoming weekend. We’ll keep you posted as the week progresses.
