Some Clouds Today and Tomorrow, Few Showers Tomorrow Night

Jessica Conley

Updated 1 month ago

From the WABI-TV5 & CW Forecast Center:

The upper level low and its associated pool of cold air aloft that moved southeast across Maine Friday and caused a good deal of fair weather clouds to pop-up continues to slide off to our east. With the upper low to our northeast and high pressure centered over southern Ontario slowly approaching New England Saturday the skies will average mostly to partly sunny throughout Maine. The temps will slowly warm this weekend, with highs today reaching the low to mid 70s all across our region. The high will continue to produce mostly sunny skies throughout Maine Sunday, with temps continuing to slowly warm.

Partly Sunny, Breezy & Cooler Friday

Chris Ewing

Updated 1 month ago

From the WABI-TV5 & CW Forecast Center:

The combination of strong high pressure centered near Hudson Bay and a storm system located near southern Newfoundland combined to bring a gusty northwest breeze to Maine today. The gusty wind helped pull a much less humid airmass into New England today. The overall weather pattern will change very little over the next several days as the high remains to our northwest and the storm spins over Newfoundland.

Mostly Sunny & Seasonable Stretch of Weather

Jessica Conley

Updated 1 month ago

It’ll be a pretty easy rest of the week and weekend in the weather office. Things look like they’ll stay mostly sunny and seasonable as far as temps go. Today a ridge of high pressure starts to move in. It’ll keep us with mainly clear and sunny skies. Another cold front crosses the state tonight. That’ll cool high temps down for tomorrow by about five to ten degrees. By Friday night a few isolated showers are possible in far northern and eastern areas but I even hesitate to mention them because I’m thinking about 98 percent of us will stay totally dry.

The storm that brought the showers and thundershowers to our region last night and earlier today has moved northeast into the Canadian Maritimes. The drier northwesterly airflow will cause skies to become mostly clear tonight and by daybreak tomorrow the temps will range from the upper 40s north to the low to mid 50s south.

Showers Today, Sun Sunday & Monday

Jessica Conley

It looks like very scattered showers will hang around for most of the day today. Models are delaying the exit of the low pressure system because of a high pressure system that is situated off the coast. Generally we love high pressure systems, but not so much when they are sort of blocking our current low from moving its way out, and our next high from coming in. Most models are agreeing that things will clear up overnight tonight into tomorrow. Highs today will be in the upper 60s and low 70s.
