Sunny but Chilly to Start the Week

Jessica Conley

Updated 10 months ago

A high pressure system is now building into the area. For Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday high pressure sticks around and keeps things sunny/mostly sunny during the day. It will be very cold as well, with the flow around the high pressure bringing us winds from the north. Overnight values will drop into the mid teens tonight and tomorrow night for cooler spots. Mid 20s are easily reachable for the “warmer” locations. Temps will gradually warm to around normal by Wednesday as the high pressure system shifts eastward. Then by Thursday a warm front will cross the area, bringing above normal temperatures (about ten degrees above normal!) and increasing clouds for the day. Rain will start Thursday evening. The cold front associated with the same low crosses the area very early Friday and will bring steady rain to the region through late Friday morning. Temps will cool behind the front to around normal values.

A strong storm sliding northeast across Ontario and Quebec tonight and tomorrow will pull a warm front through Maine tonight followed by a cold front later tomorrow. Most of Maine will receive between .50” and 1.00” of rain by the time the cold front exits to our east and the showers come to an end.

As the high departs to our east a warm front associated with a storm moving northeast through the Great lakes Region will approach New England. Fair & Chilly Tonight through Wednesday

Chris Ewing

Updated 10 months ago

Low temps tonight will fall into the 20s all across the state, with even a few a few teens showing up over the deeper valleys well north of the Bangor region. Despite a good deal of sunshine tomorrow high temps in Maine will hold in the upper 30s across the far north to the 40s elsewhere in the state.

Showers Possible Today, Cooler Temps Tuesday

Todd Simcox

Updated 10 months ago

From the TV 5 Forecast Center:

Weak low pressure will pull a cold front through the state this afternoon bringing scattered showers to some parts of the state this afternoon. The bulk of the showers will fall north of Bangor with a lesser chance for showers from Bangor southward to the coast. The airmass will stay cold enough so that areas north of Greenville and Millinocket will see the showers mix with some snow at times. Temperatures will top off in the 40s to around 50° for highs this afternoon. Showers are expected to move out of the state later this afternoon and early this evening. Skies will then clear out as we head into the night tonight. Slightly cooler air will move in behind the front so with skies turning clear tonight and light winds expected, temperatures will be chilly with nighttime lows in the 20s.
