Fair & Milder Today

Chris Ewing

Updated 6 months ago

From the WABI-TV5 & CW Forecast Center:

As high pressure slips off to our east a southerly breeze will develop here today and that will allow temps to rebound back to more seasonable levels as highs reach up into the 30s across most of Maine. Temps Saturday across Maine will likely be the mildest we have seen so far this month as highs reach the mid 30s to low 40s just ahead of a cold front. The approaching cold front will bring partly cloudy skies to Maine Saturday, with a few scattered snow showers possible across far northern parts of the state. Colder air will begin to filter back into Maine Saturday night as the cold front slides offshore and a northwest breeze develops here. Sunday will be bright and chilly as a bubble of arctic high pressure centered north of the Great Lakes region moves east and controls our weather.

Few Snow Showers Tonight, Cold Temps Stick Around This Week

Jessica Conley

Updated 6 months ago

It looks like the cold temps will be staying with us through the next several days. It’ll actually become even colder (think single digits and teens for highs!) as we head into the start of the work week after a cold front moves through the area tomorrow.  Our next shot at some snow comes tonight. This will be very light and mostly in the form of a few snow showers in the late evening and through the overnight hours. Not expecting much, if anything, in the way of accumulation; some spots may see a coating or so, but that’s about it. It could be just enough to make some roads a little slick for the early morning hours on Sunday since the ground and roads are frozen solid.

Bright, Breezy & Cold Today

Chris Ewing

Updated 6 months ago

From the WABI-TV5 & CW Forecast Center:

The cold weather pattern will continue across Maine right through much of next week. High pressure will bring bright, breezy and cold weather to Maine today and once again high temps will range from the teens north to low 20s south. A slightly stronger storm will enter the Northeast later Saturday and will likely bring a somewhat steadier band of light snow to our area later in the day into early Sunday morning as the storms trailing cold front slowly works southeast through our region. A southerly wind ahead of the cold front will allow temps to warm into the 20s Saturday. Approaching high pressure will produce fair and cold weather across the Northeast later Sunday. Once the cold front moves to our south a fresh shot of arctic air will spread back into the northeast for later Sunday and the first half of next week. Another storm will ride northeast along a stalled front near the Southern New England Coastline early next week, but at this point in time it is too difficult to tell if the storm will move close enough to Maine to produce some snow in our region later Monday and early Tuesday.

From the WABI-TV5 & CW Forecast Center:

The temperatures across our region will remain well below normal during the last two days of February and the first several days of March. A small and moisture starved storm currently crossing southern Quebec will drag a cold front across our Maine this evening. The front will continue to produce scattered snow showers through the evening hours, but the dry airmass currently over New England will limited any accumulation tonight to an inch or less.
