Bowdoin falls in elite eight…

For the fifth time in the last six seasons, the Bowdoin College women’s basketball team saw their season come to an end in the &quot:Elite Eight&quot: of the NCAA Tournament, falling to Mary Washington on Saturday, 64-59. Bowdoin finishes their season with a record of 29-2. JILL ANELAUSKAS, 18 POINTS, AND EILEEN FLAHERTY 15 POINTS.

VERMONT WINS ON THE ROAD TONIGHT AT BOSTON UNIVERSITY 3-2. UNH BLANKS PROVIDENCE 4-0 AND B.C. SHUTS OUT NORTHEASTERN 3-0. ALL THREE TEAMS HOLD A 1-0 LEAD IN THE BEST OF THREE SERIES.

SHE AND HER TEAMMATES ALSO HAVE THE ABILITY TO DIG DEEP AND GRIND OUT WINS WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH.

BREWER HIGH SCHOOL WON THE REGIONAL TITLE IN CLASS ‘B’ LAST YEAR. THE DEFENDING CHAMPS CAME INTO THIS YEARS TITLE GAME AS THE FAVORITE. THE WITCHES HAVE OUTSCORED THEIR OPPONENTS BY A 4-1 MARGIN THIS WINTER AND TOP SEED ORONO WAS ELIMINATED BY PRESQUE ISLE ON SATURDAY. THE WILDCATS COMING IN ON A HIGH NOTE AND TRYING TO SURPRISE BREWER WEDNESDAY.

THE BREWER WITCHES WILL PLAY FOR AN EASTERN MAINE CHAMPIONSHIP IN HOCKEY, BREWER BEATS WINLSOW AT SUKEE ARENA 3-0, PRESQUE ISLE UPSETS NUMBER ONE ORONO 4-2.

CLASS A HOCKEY….BANGOR WINS 4-0 OVER WATERVILLE. RAMS WILL FACE LEWISTON FOR THE EASTERN MAINE TITLE (LEWISTON BEAT BRUNSWICK, 2-1).

THE NEW SCHEDULE HAS THE WATERVILLE GIRLS PLAYING LAKE REGION AT NOON ON SATURDAY AT THE CUMBERLAND COUNTY CIVIC CENTER FOLLOWED BY THE CAMDEN HILLS GAME AGAINST MOUNTAIN VALLEY AT 1:45.

WITH A RECORD OF 12-7-1 THE BANGOR HOCKEY TEAM HAD ALL THEY COULD HANDLE WITH THE MESSALONSKEE EAGLES. THE RAMS LEAD BY 1-0 AFTER CHRISTIAN DION (DEE-ON) SCORED IN THE FIRST…
THE TEAMS CAME OUT TO PLAY THE SECOND PERIOD ALL FIRED UP AND IT WAS A GOALTENDERS SHOW…MESSALONKSEE’S MICHAEL HACHEY AND ANDREW RILEY KEPT BOTH TEAMS OFF THE SCOREBOARD IN THE SECOND. BOTH TEAMS HAD A COUPLE POWER PLAY OPPORTUNITIES BUT THAT FIRST PERIOD GOAL STOOD UP FOR THE RAMS. RILEY EARNS THE SHUTOUT WITH 22 SAVES.. BANGOR ADVANCES INTO THE SEMIS.

THE BEN BISHOP INJURY WATCH IS BACK ON THIS WEEK. THE UMAINE GOALIE RE-AGGRIVATED HIS GROIN INJURY LATE IN THE 2nd PERIOD IN THE WIN OVER MERRIMACK.

IT’S ACTUALLY NEAR THE SITE OF THE LAST INJURY BUT IN THE GROIN RATHER THAN THE HIP FLEXOR.
