Tri-Athletes going to the Sunshine state

Updated 7 years ago

TOM McWALTERS AND BRITT HULBERT HAVE QUALIFYED FOR THE BEST OF THE US TRIATHLON WHICH TAKES PLACE IN FLORIDA ON SATURDAY.
THEY DID SO BY WINNING THE PINE TREE EVENT IN BREWER IN JULY.
WE CAUGHT UP WITH TOM McWALTERS BEFORE HE LEFT FOR THE EVENT. HE’S 25 YEARS OLD AND USED TO BIKE AND RUN. A FRIEND IN COLLEGE AT UMAINE MACHIAS SUGGESTED TRIATHLONS. ONE PROBLEM…. McWALTERS DIDN’T SWIM. HE’S WORKED ON THAT PART OF THE EVENT AND HAS BECOME PRETTY GOOD AT THE SPORT. ON SATURDAY HE’LL SWIM 1 1/2 K… BIKE 26 MILES AND RUN 10 K.
WITH ALL THAT GOES INTO THE SPORT, IT HAS BECOME A WAY OF LIFE FOR HIM.
