ADD ELIZBETH ANDERSON OF MORRILL WHO PLAYED AT KENT’S HILL TO THAT LIST. ADD FOUR CANADIENS AND ONE GIRL FROM NEW HAMPSHIRE TO THE CLASS OF 2011.

A COUPLE OF MAINE ROWERS ARE HEADING TO THE OLYMPICS. ANNA GOODALE OF CAMDEN WILL BE PART OF THE WOMEN’S EIGHT. GOODALE GRADUATED IN 2001 FROM CAMDEN HIGH SCHOOL. Goodale recently won a gold medal with the U.S. National Team in the World Cup even in Lucerne, Switzerland June 7-8. ELLE LOGAN OF BOOTHBAY HARBOR ALSO MADE THE TEAM AND WILL BE IN THE SAME BOAT.

A CHANGE COULD BE COMING TO KATAHDIN HIGH SCHOOL… THE WINNINGEST COACH IN HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL COULD BE DONE. DICK BARSTOW IS CONTEMPLATING RETURNING FOR HIS 50TH YEAR.

BARSTOW TOLD US HE DID APPLY FOR HIS POSITION NEXT YEAR, BUT THEN WITHDREW THE APPLICATION. THERE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A MEETING CONCERNING HIS FUTURE WITH THE COUGARS PROGRAM ON THE NINTH, BUT THAT HAS BEEN PUSHED BACK UNTIL AUGUST.

AN UPDATE ON MIKE CUSHING. THE HARNESS DRIVER WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT A WEEK AGO AT BASS PARK. CUSHING IS STILL IN EASTERN MAINE MEDICAL CENTER IN STABLE CONDITION. CUSHING WAS THROWN FROM HIS SULKIE IN A CRASH DURING A QUALIFYING RACE. HE NEEDED RODS AND PINS PUT IN HIS LOWER BACK AFTER HE COMPRESSED HIS SPINE LANDING ON IMPACT.

CRAIG IS A MOUNTAIN BIKER IN THE ELITE DIVISION. OVER THE WEEKEND CRAIG FINISHED AS THE SECOND BEST AMERICAN IN THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS OVER IN ITALY. CRAIG IS BATTLING FOR ONE OF TWO SPOTS TO BE ON TEAM USA.
