THIS SUNDAY WILL BE THE FIFTH ANNUAL GAME DINNER AT THE SEDOMOCHA MIDDLE SCHOOL IN DOVER FOXCROFT. THE MEAT AND FISH ALL DONATED BY LOCAL HUNTERS, TRAPPERS, GUIDES AND GAME WARDENS. THE DINNER LAST FROM 11:30 TO 3 AND A NINE DOLLAR DONATION WOULD BE APPRECIATED. IT HELPS RAISE MONEY FOR THE DOVER YMCA FOR FISHING TRIPS AND FIELD TRIPS.

THE HIGH TEMPS IN SEPTEMBER KEPT THE MOOSE FROM MOVING A LOT. ONLY 797 MOOSE WERE TAKEN IN SEPTEMBER COMPARED TO THE 1,225 TAKEN IN OCTOBER….

Morrow out for season

THE UMAINE WOMENS BASKETBALL TEAM IS DOWN A PLAYER BEFORE THE SEASON BEGINS.
THE BLACK BEARS WOULDN’T HAVE HAD WHITNEY MORROW FOR ANY REGULAR SEASON GAMES UNTIL THE 2nd SEMESTER, BUT NOW SHE’LL MISS THE ENTIRE SEASON. MORROW AND COACH CINDY BLODGETT AGREED THAT MORROW WOULD REMAIN IN SCHOOL, BUT NOT BE A PART OF THE TEAM THIS SEASON.
SHE MAY WELL BE BACK WITH THE TEAM NEXT FALL.
MORROW WAS AN ALL STATE PLAYER FROM SOUTH PORTLAND AND PLAYED AT RICHMOND FOR A YEAR AND A HALF BEFORE TRANSFERRING TO UMAINE.

THE HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS HIT ROUND TWO FOR THE CLASS ‘A’ TEAMS FRIDAY NIGHT…SKOWHEGAN WILL HAVE TO PLAY IT’S BEST GAME TOMORROW

TO BEAT TOP SEED LAWRENCE. AND STILL UP IN THE AIR FOR THE INDIANS IS THE HEALTH OF ZACK WHITING. THE SENIOR RUNNING BACK WAS FEELING TIRED AND BLOOD TESTS SHOWED THAT IT WAS BORDERLINE MONO.
HE HAS BEEN PRACTICING THIS WEEK, BUT HE HASN’T BEEN INVOLVED IN CONTACT DRILLS.
THE 12 HUNDRED YARD RUSHER IS WAITING FOR THE OK FROM DOCTORS…. AND HE JUST MIGHT BE OK TO PLAY FRIDAY NIGHT.

THE LTC CLASS C FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS CAME DOWN TO TODAY’S COIN FLIP. ATHLETIC DIRECTORS FROM ROCKLAND, BUCKSPORT, AND ORONO MET AT BUCKSPORT HIGH. ALL THREE FLIPPED A COIN, ALL HEADS, THEY FLIPPED AGAIN…BUCKSPORT WAS THE ODD TEAM OUT. SO IT CAME DOWN TO THE HEAD TO HEAD RECORD OF ROCKLAND AND ORONO…ROCKLAND WON THAT GAME, SO ROCKLAND IS IN THE PLAYOFFS. ORONO AND BUCKSPORT’S SEASONS ARE DONE.
