Wasson will play despite arrest

UMAINE FOOTBALL &quot:WILL&quot: HAVE LINEBACKER SEAN WASSON IN THE LINEUP TOMORROW AGAINST RHODE ISLAND.

THE SENIOR WAS ARRESTED FOR VOILATING BAIL CONDITIONS LAST WEEKEND. HE HAD INCURRED AN OUI IN AUGUST. ACCORDING TO POLICE REPORTS, THE 22 YEAR OLD WASSON ADMITTED TO HAVING FIVE BEERS. HIS BAIL CONDITION WAS THAT HE NOT POSSESS OR CONSUME ALCOHOL.
AFTER BEING RELEASED FROM PENOBSCOT COUNTY JAIL HE SELF REPORTED HIS INFRACTING TO THE UNIVERSITY.
THE STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT COMMITTEE ADVISED THAT HE COMPLETE COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS AND TAKE PART IN ALCOHOL EDUCATION CLASSES.
WASSON HAS TWO INTERCEPTIONS AND IS THE TEAMS 3rd LEADING TACKLER.

KEITH CARNEY RETIRES AT THE AGE OF 38… HE WAS ENTERTANING OFFERS FROM A COUPLE TEAMS EARLIER IN THE YEAR BUT AFTER 17 YEARS IN THE N-H-L HE LET HIS WIFE AMY BREAK THE NEWS IN E-MAIL TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY… CARNEY NOW LIVES IN ARIZONA WITH HIS FOUR CHILDREN… THE FORMER BLACKBEAR CAME TO MAINE IN THE FALL OF 1988… HE RECORDED 45 GOALS AND 183 ASSISTS WITH FIVE DIFFERENT TEAMS IN THE N-H-L….. IN HIS SENIOR SEASON HE HAD 49 ASSISTS FOR THE BLACK BEARS.
