Caitlin Burchill joined the WABI news team in March of 2013. While she originally hails from Walpole, MA, Caitlin is very familiar with the great state of Maine! She watched TV-5 while a student at Colby College. Go Mules!
Caitlin graduated from Colby in May 2012 with a double major in American Studies and Women's, Gender, & Sexuality Studies. While at Colby, Caitlin was co-captain of the varsity volleyball team. During her senior season, she was named "Female Athlete of the Year" by Colby's campus newspaper and selected to the New England All-Star Senior team. On campus, Caitlin also served as a president of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee and called the play-by-play for Colby basketball and baseball games. Upon graduation, she was voted the "Pamela Hoyt-Sanborn Award" winner for inspirational leadership and sportsmanship during her tenure at the college.
Caitlin previously worked at New England Cable News as a Special Projects Associate Producer and as a Freelance Assignment Editor. During the summer of 2012, if you ever traveled over the Bourne Bridge onto Cape Cod, you may have heard Caitlin's voice echoing across the Cape Cod Canal. She worked as a public address announcer for the Bourne Braves, a Cape Cod Baseball League team. Although it may not have been beautiful, Caitlin was fortunate to announce the league's first inside-the-park, walk-off home run.
When she's not reporting, Caitlin enjoys working out, relaxing at the beach, and rooting for Boston sports teams! A Mainer at heart, Caitlin couldn't be happier to be back living in the Pine Tree State.
