The Maine Invasive Species Network (MISN) held its annual meeting at Colby College today.
The conference brought professionals from throughout the state together to talk about threats, regulations, management, and other issues relating to invasive species of plants and animals.
Network members say this meeting fosters collaborative work.
Nancy Olmstead, Invasive Plant Biologist says, “In Maine we have such an important natural resource base to our economy and we also have this incredible brand of Maine as being a natural resource rich state. Those natural resources are at risk from invasive species and so, we need this network so that professionals can learn from one another and just become better acquainted with the different species that are out there and how we can work together to asses these problems.”
This is the seventh year MISN has held their annual meeting.
