Police reportedly rescued eleven dogs from an illegal pet store in Skowhegan Friday.
32 year old Nicole Bizier of Skowhegan is charged with animal cruelty, theft by deception, and illegal operation of the pet shop.
According to police, Bizier operated an illegal business online, selling dogs with falsified veterinary and vaccine records under the aliases Sarah Landcaster and Saraa Plummer.
Police arrested Bizier after an undercover operation that started nearly two months ago.
In January, four people contacted the state police claiming they bought dogs that were improperly vaccinated.
Animal welfare officers found the vet records on all the dogs were falsified.
Bizier was then charged with falsifying private records and tampering with public information and orded to stop all pet sales.
Police determined Bizier ignored that order and continued to sell dogs through various online sites.
Friday police searched Bizier’s home in Skowhegan and found seven pit bull puppies and an additional four adult dogs of various breeds.
All of the animals were seized and transported to the Somerset Humane Society for medical care.
