A group of Maine healthcare providers are worried about the impact of the Affordable Care Act repeal.
Maine Providers Standing Up for Health Care held a conference at Portland’s public library to urge Maine’s lawmakers to protect healthcare access for Mainers.
The group of doctors, nurses, dentists and other healthcare professionals worry the proposed replacement of the ACA will be devastating.
They say it’ll cut Medicaid and increase costs for older Mainers and people living in rural areas.
“We need a health insurance that provides affordable health insurance for everyone that equitable,” said social worker Julie Schrimer.
The group hosting the event says they hope people who came out on Saturday remember the stories they heard at the conference.
