Byron Opting to Become NHL Free Agent

Blaine Byron is going to try his luck in the free agent market. The UMaine senior hockey player was a 6th round pick by the Pittsburgh Penguins but has turned down their offer.  The hope is to have a better opportunity with another franchise. He’s in position to get a good offer. His senior year at UMaine this winter was solid with 41 points in 36 games. Ranking Byron 18th in the country in scoring.
