It’s time to gear up for the 3rd annual Maine Science Festival in Bangor! This year is going to be better and longer! Events all across the city begin March 16th and goes all the way to Sunday, March 19th!
The Maine Science Festival, launched in 2015, is a weekend celebration of science, held annually with more than 50 events and activities across Downtown Bangor, the Cross Insurance Center, and Hampden Academy Performing Arts Center. We hold events for all ages, dissecting, exploring and celebrating the remarkable science, engineering, mathematics and technology happening in Maine every day.
MSF events include forums, hands-on activities, workshops, exhibits, and films. Since our inaugural festival in 2015, more than 22,000 people have joined with us to celebrate Maine science, and we are proud to highlight not only the remarkable work happening everyday throughout Maine, but the remarkable people who make it happen. Maine has national and world leaders in many scientific fields, and the MSF is happy to showcase them and their work. For an example of how we do this, please check out the 2015 program and/or the 2016 program.
Almost every MSF event is available free-of-charge all weekend – thanks to our sponsors and partners. The only current exception is our headliner/keynote address.** We have made the decision to keep the MSF available to all, to ensure that all Mainers have the opportunity to attend and learn about science in a unique and innovative way.
**We are working to keep virtually every MSF event free, and will only charge for those events that come with significant costs.
The MSF has brought together Maine’s premier, nationally renowned science organizations for the first time under one roof. Just as important, the MSF allows festival-goers, especially those in middle school and high school, to get inspired by the many different types of science and technology that is happening in Maine. Remember, #scienceiseverywhere!
The Maine Science Festival is a proud member of the Science Festival Alliance.
