Penquis Talks About Upcoming Parent Café

Parents connecting with other parents, that’s the idea behind the Parent Café.

Denise Trafton talked to us about the upcoming Parent Café being held in the Bangor community.

Over the last several months Penquis conducted community conversations throughout Penobscot County.

They asked parents in our area “what would be helpful and supportive to you as a parent, what would you like to see?”

Feedback from parents and community members indicated parents were were looking for opportunities to connect with other parents.

The Parent Café is response to that request and an opportunity for parents to connect with other parents.

Parent Café’ is a monthly opportunity for parents to get together and have conversations about parenting topics.

It will be open from 9 am -11 am, with snacks and coffee and a relaxed atmosphere.

There will be a “menu” of topics and parents can pick a topic and the conversation is led by the parents.

The goal is for parents to have an opportunity to connect with one another, share experiences, learn from one another and possibly develop new friendships.
