Norway Man Sentenced to 15 Months in Prison for Making Threats Against Portland Police

A Norway man will spend 15 months in a federal prison for making threats against the Portland Police Department last August.

Espen Brungodt was sentenced in federal court in Portland on Thursday. He faced up to five years in prison.

Brungodt threatened to kill Portland police officers in a series of emails he sent in August 2016. Several city buildings were placed on lockdown as a precaution.

Brungodt will be deported to Norway after he completes his prison sentence.
