A group formed outside the University of Southern Maine in Portland Thursday night, to protest a state representative from Amherst, holding a discussion at the school.
Larry Lockman’s program was titled, ‘Alien Invasion. fixing the Immigration Crisis.’
The group says it is disappointed that USM provided the platform for Lockman to speak.
The school says it does not support Lockman’s views.
Last month, Lockman faced criticism for a tweet he posted about transgender people.
In it, the three-term state representative, referred to transgender people as “mentally ill.”
The tweet was part of a discussion about an article on gender identity.
