People have more to explore now in Ellsworth.
Camp Jordan is opening a new trail system for snowshoers this Friday.
“We are in Maine. You never know. We could be snowshoeing into June,” said Jodie Burckhard, the Director of Camp Programs & Services.
The time is right. Even though the weather’s been more wet than wintry, the trails at Camp Jordan are full of snow.
“They’re all pretty well-marked…so you can’t really get lost,” she said.
After you’ve had enough of the cold, you can warm up in Camp Jordan’s newly winterized dining hall.
Snowshoers are welcome every weekend through March, weather permitting.
You can buy a punch pass for the season – good for ten visits.
If you don’t own snowshoes, you can rent them for $5 a day.
