No Deal Reached in Case of Tennessee Trucker Involved in Fatal Knox Co. Crash 

Weddle, Randall 5-6-16Efforts to reach a deal with a Tennessee truck driver charged with the deaths two people in a crash in Knox County have come up short.

Randall Weddle, 54, is charged with manslaughter, drunk driving and violating trucking rules.

A settlement conference was held Mondayto try to wrap up the case and avoid a trial, but prosecutors say no agreement was reached.

Last March, Weddle was driving a tractor trailer loaded with timber on Rte. 17 in Washington.

Police say he was drunk, had hydrocodone in his system and was speeding at the time of the four-vehicle crash.

Paul Fowles, 74, of Owls Head and Christina Torres-York, 45, of Warren died.

A trial date has not been set.
