Active Search for Armed Man After Assault in Holden

Brian Sullivan

An active search by police for a man they say sent one woman to the hospital with severe head injuries.

The call coming in around 8:30 Monday night.

Holden police say they are looking for an armed man around 20 years old.

They’re searching along with K-9’s on Dayze road, a private lane off of South Rd. in Holden.

We’re told the initial report was an attempted robbery at a home they believe was specifically targeted.

Holden Police Chief Chris Greeley says a man with his face covered showed a pistol and threatened two people inside the home.

Initially, police say gunshots were reported – then learning one woman was hurt.

But the chief says they don’t know whether the woman’s head wound was from a bullet – or the pistol itself.

The police chief tells us the homeowner’s son and daughter have both been arrested before, and the woman sent to the hospital is a family member.

He also says the woman’s purse with cash was taken tonight.

Police say they believe the suspect left in a car, and does not think he is any danger to the public.
