The Bangor Police force has four new officers.
Chief Mark Hathaway introduced them to city council and community members during the meeting Monday night.
He says all four recently graduated from the the Maine Criminal Justice Academy with high praise.
Officers Brandon Sperry and Brian Cronk are both from Hermon.
Sperry attended Husson University. Cronk went to Beal College.
Officer Shane Smith is from the Farmington area.
Officer Dan Perez is from Connecticut.
The rookies are currently spending some time understanding lay of the land. They will soon start a training program.
“We’ve been riding around for the last couple of days, couple of weeks and it’s been a blast. So we’re ready to be on FTO,” said Officer Sperrey.
Chief Hathaway says even during the familiarization process the rookies were ready to respond.
Officer Cronk helped catch some suspects last week accused of taking packages from mailboxes on Christmas Eve.
