Maine’s Top Students Receive MPA Principal’s Award

Maine’s brightest and best high school students were honored Saturday.

The Maine Principals Association awarded the Principals award to one student from each high school.

The award recognizes scholarship, leadership and citizenship.

“They are the top of their class academically, they’re good school and community citizens that are probably volunteers at a lot of different things, they are the club leaders, music, speech, drama, athletics for most of them. They are just what we would all want our sons and daughters to be…representing our families, our school and our communities,” says Dick Durost, Executive Director of the MPA.

Ten students also received a $1000 scholarship to put toward future education.
