A local business is reaching out to man’s best friend this holiday season.
Loyal Biscuit Company is holding a fundraiser called “Fill Our Windows, Fill Their Bowls” to benefit the Pope Memorial Humane Society of Knox County and the Waterville Area Humane Society.
The pet supply store is partnering with Canidae Pet Foods, and all the money raised will go to buy food for pets living in those shelters.
Customers can purchase a window decoration for either one or five dollars. The goal — to fill the windows and raise four thousand dollars by Christmas.
“It is very hard for the shelters to keep their bowls full. They’re bringing in new dogs and new cats every single day, so we’re just trying to help them be able to feed a healthy food for all their animals,” said Melody Knowlton, manager of Loyal Biscuit in Rockland.
The fundraiser runs now through December 24th.
You can buy a window decoration in person at any of the Loyal Biscuit locations in Rockland, Belfast, Camden or Waterville.
