Art Studio Donates $17K+ From Copper Dome Jewelry to Library 

Pieces of the Bangor Public Library’s 100-year old dome will be preserved even longer, thanks to a local jewelry and art gallery.

Several pieces of the copper dome were given to Main Jewelry and Art in downtown Bangor for jewelry making.

The gallery has now created more than 1000 pieces of jewelry.

They’ve also been donating the proceeds back to the library each month, totaling more than $17,000.

“It’s very exhilarating, I barely slept last night even though we knew the amounts because we have been keeping track, it’s kind of amazing to us that our little gallery has produced so much, over 1000 pieces, and has given so much back,” says Roxanne Munksgaard, Co-Owner of
