Kids Savor Summer at YMCA Camp

The first day of school is drawing near, and the last days of summer camp are coming to an end.

We caught up with kids in Hampden at the YMCA’s Camp Pierce Webber in Hampden.

It’s a ten-week long day camp for kids of all ages.

They’ve got everything from arts and crafts to hiking, swimming and zip lining.

There’s also a chance for some of the older kids to get leadership experience.

“It’s pretty fun. My first day I didn’t know how it was gonna go but it’s fun,” says 5th grader Jack Commeau from Glenburn.

“I think I’m gonna be better off going into high school now that I’ve learned a lot of how to make friends better and how to be a better leader,” says 9th grader, Evan Gaudette from Glenburn.

“It’s really fun, I like capture the flag the most and sometimes on Thursdays we do zip line and nature, and it’s really fun and we like camp so that’s why I came here and I wanted to go to camp some day so that’s why I came to camp,” says Kailyn Lottman from Bangor.

Camp wraps up in three weeks.
