The Brewer Community is working together to be prepared for the worst. The National Tactical Officers Association taught local police and community leaders how to be ready in the event of an active shooter scenario.

The non-profit organization teaches seminars in cities across the nation. They work to distinguish between a security plan and an emergency plan.

“But we know that can’t get there as quickly as we really would like to so what this training does is help law enforcement work with community so they can protect themselves better until we can arrive and hopefully save lives in doing so,” says Don Alwens, instructor with the National Tactical Officers Association.

Alwens commended the Brewer community on their interest in working together.
