From the TV 5 Forecast Center:

Unsettled weather will stick around our area through the weekend. An upper low pressure system is currently spinning over southern Quebec and will gradually drift northward as the weekend progresses. Disturbances wrapping around the upper low will come across New England giving us the chance for some scattered showers today and tomorrow.

Skies will be variably cloudy for the remainder of the day. Scattered showers are expected to develop this afternoon as an upper level disturbance crosses the state. The showers will be hit and miss so some areas may see a shower or two today and some areas won’t see anything at all. Temperatures will be a bit below average today with highs mainly in the low to mid-70s. Any showers that develop will diminish later this evening/early tonight followed by partly to mostly cloudy skies for the nighttime hours.

The upper low will bring us another chance for some scattered showers during the day Saturday especially late morning through the afternoon. The best chance for showers will be focused over northern and western areas, closer to the upper low. Again, the showers will be hit and miss so some locales may see a shower or two and some may not see anything at all. Otherwise, expect mostly cloudy skies Saturday with a few breaks of sunshine possible and highs in the upper 60s to mid-70s. Sunday will feature a better chance for showers over all parts of the state as a cold front is forecast to cross the state during the day and into Sunday night. High pressure is forecast to move in behind the cold front setting us up with some nicer weather early next week. We’ll see partly to mostly sunny skies both Monday and Tuesday with highs mainly in the 70s.

Rest of Today: variably cloudy with scattered showers possible. Highs between 68°-75°. Southwest wind 7-12 MPH becoming south later today.
