An 11-year-old Brewer boy is biking to help out some furry friends.
For the third year, Matt Gross hit the road to raise money for the Bangor Humane Society.
He started the annual trek after his family adopted their beagle “Buddy” from the shelter.
Matt has raised more than $2,300 the past two years.
His goal this year was $1,300, which he’s already collected.
Matt hopes people join in his efforts.
“I just feel that the animals at the Bangor Humane Society need more money for food, beds, and basically anything they could need. I will try and raise a lot of money for them,” said Gross.
Between baseball and other activities, Matt trains on his bike at least 2 days a week.
TV5′s Caitlin Burchill tried to keep up with him and said it was tough.
Matt’s Third Annual “The Ride for the Wet Nose” is Wednesday, August 20th.
He’ll start at 9:30am at Pat’s Bike Shop in Brewer and ride through Holden, and Orrington.
You can join the ride, or donate by visiting his facebook page, or you can contact the Humane society at 942-8902.
