More financial help is coming to the Katahdin region to help laid off mill workers.

Senators Susan Collins and Angus King announced in a joint statement Monday that the U.S. Department of Labor will award a National Emergency Grant worth $284,879.

The money will help support workers who qualify for re-employment services.

More than 200 people have been without jobs at the mill since being laid off in February.

Many of them were officially laid off last week.
