Senators Susan Collins and Angus King will take a trip to Texas. They plan to visit sites housing immigrant children who have crossed the border illegally.
Senator King says they will join 10 other members of the U.S. House and Senate. They’ll head to the southern border later this week, pending the Senate’s work schedule.
King’s office says tens of thousands of unaccompanied minors from Central America who crossed the border are living there.
