Pet of the Week: Old Town Animal Orphanage

Updated 5 months ago

Bobbie Fowler was in from the Old Town Animal Orphanage with a furry friend for us to meet.

If you are interested in adopting a pet, the orphanage is open Monday through Friday 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

They are located in the DeWitt Airport Commerce Park off Gilman Falls Ave. in Old Town.

To contact the orphanage you can give them a call at 827-8777, email info@animal-orphanage.com.

You can also visit their website at animal-orphanage.com

Bobbie also mentioned  a couple upcoming events you can take part in to support the Old Town Animal Orphanage.

On Thursday, August 7th, the Desperadoes will be playing at the Old Town Concert in the Park Series, and free ice cream will be provided by the Darlings ice cream truck. The ice cream is free, but donations are always appreciated, and will all go to support the Old Town Animal Orphanage.

The orphanage was also just given a challenge grant from an anonymous couple. They will give a matching donation if the orphanage can raise $2,000 in donations. The money will be used to repair the older dog kennels and finish the new isolation room. If you would like to donate, checks can be sent to:

The Animal Orphanage

P.O. Box 565

Orono, ME 04473

All donations are tax deductible. Call 299-7324 if you would like further information on how you can help the orphanage meet their challenge!
