A neighborhood party is shaping up in Bangor – and even if you don’t live there, you’re invited.
Organizers are getting ready for the annual block party in Chapin Park Tuesday, July 29th.
It’s supported by businesses in the area as a way to stay thank you to the community – and it’s all free.
There’s food, face painting, games and more.
One of the highlights is a concert by the Bangor Band, which has been there since the party started, 20 years ago.
Bill Miller, who’s in the band and helps organize the event, says, ‘The bigger the audience, the better we play. And this neighborhood really draws a lot of people. It’s important that we play, it’s important that people hear our music. And not to be corny but it’s going be the first time that somebody’s heard ‘Stars and Stripes Forever’ and sadly it’s going to be the last time somebody’s heard ‘Stars and Stripes Forever’. We need to play that the best we possibly can.”
Again, the party’s in Chapin park, right behind Abraham Lincoln School.
It’s from 6 p.m to 8 p.m.
The Bangor Band starts playing at 6:45 p.m.
