A man from Bangor accused of stealing a car, then taking off on the highway is being held without bail.

29-year-old Lucus Qualey is charged with unauthorized use of property, OUI and violating conditions of release.

He was arrested Thursday afternoon in Old Town, after he ran off into the woods by the highway.

Police say a man told them his car was stolen out of his driveway in Bangor.

A short time later, witnesses reported seeing Qualey driving the car erratically.

The District Attorney’s Office says Qualey was charged with domestic violence last year.

The judge revoked his bail on that case Friday and set bail for the incident with car at $1,000.
