A tradition is underway on an island off the coast of Mount Desert Island.
It’s one that’s put together every year by a local resident.
Little Cranberry Island, also known as Islesford, has been visited by people all around the world for its breathtaking views, New England charm, and outdoor activities, like this 18-hole, homemade mini-golf course.
It was a hit on the island.
For nearly a decade, Jim Parrish has been setting up his course on his front yard.
There’s a $4 charge, but right from the beginning, all proceeds have gone to charity.
Parrish estimates he’s raised around ten grand over the years. Last year, funds went to help victims of the Oklahoma tornados. This year, donations aren’t going far.
The course changes every year.
Parrish says watching kids come back every year and knowing it’s all been for a good cause is what he loves most, and just making people smile.
