A man from Seboeis Plantation is in jail on $10,000 bail for sex crimes involving a young girl.

27-year-old John Murray is charged with unlawful sexual contact.

He made his first court appearance Friday.

Murray was arrested Thursday in Bangor while visiting the Department of Health and Human Services Office.

Lincoln police say the girl, who’s now 14,  told them Murray inappropriately touched her when she 10 and 12 years old.

Public Safety Director Dan Summers says Murray confessed to one of the crimes when he was interviewed by Detective Mark Fucile.

An investigator with the District Attorney’s Office, Garry Higgins, assisted with the arrest.

Summers says Murray confessed to both crimes when he was interviewed by Warren Ferland and Mark Sperrey with the Maine State Police.

I personally know this guy. His brother is dating my sister & John happens to be dating a very good friend of mine. I would’ve never tagged him for something like this. Needless to say my respect is gone for this guy. My heart goes to his family though.

    Why let him out?

I don’t think they should let him out. I think for these sick people they should bring back the noose. I am just saying that because as a mother I would beat anyone who touched my child
