Early Fire Destroys Marine Services Garage

Updated 5 months ago

Fire crews were called out in Dedham Wednesday morning for a fire in a garage.

As a result, Bald Mountain Road in Dedham is closed while they fight that blaze. The fire was at Roy’s Marine Services.

At least four different fire departments were called in.

It was reportedly called in by someone driving by who saw the smoke. Dedham Police Chief Craig Shane commented on the speedy response by firefighters saying, “Location played a key, and someone calling in really quick that early in the morning. We got here quick, had a quick knockdown.”

The owner of the building was fighting the blaze when crews arrived.

The inside of the building is thought to be a total loss. Shane commented on the damage, saying, “We’ve got a bunch of salvage and overhaul still to do at this time. [The] fire marshall’s going to be called in to see if it was something internal or maybe because of the storm coming through.”
