Brewer PD Releases Names of 4 People Seriously Injured in Head-on Collision 

Brewer Police Department has released the names of those injured in a head-on crash on outer North Main Street (Route 9) Tuesday.

Just after 1PM, Brewer Police and Fire Departments responded to the crash.

Authorities say two people died at the scene, four seriously injured.

Officials say 76-year-old Joseph Richard of Mexico was driving a sedan traveling west on the road when it crossed the centerline into the oncoming lane. Richard’s vehicle collided with an SUV travelling eastbound driven by 67-year-old Robert Collins of Barnstable, Massachusetts.

Police say Collins and a passenger 69-year-old Judy Collins, also of Barnstable, MA, were transported to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor with serious injuries. Richard and 76-year-old Marjorie Richard, also of Mexico, were also transported to to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor with critical injuries.

Authorities have yet to release the names of those who died on scene.

They say the investigation is ongoing and further details will be released at a later date.

Brewer Police were assisted by traffic crash reconstructionists from the Bangor Police Department.

Deputies from the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Department also provided assistance.
