Hundreds of patients will be getting a prescription to play at state parks and historic sites – per doctor’s orders.
Primary care doctors who participate in a program called Let’s Go! are receiving more than 10,000 free Maine State parks passes to give to patients.
The pass is good at any of the state’s 48 parks and sites, with the exception of Baxter State park.
It’s valid through December.
Let’s Go! is a nationally recognized childhood obesity prevention program.
Organizers hope the park passes will encourage families to get outside and get active.
