The monthly bill for most customers of the state’s two major electricity providers will be going up.
Emera Maine says the average residential customer in the Bangor Hydro District will see an increase of almost $3 per month. Those in the Maine Public District will notice an average decrease of thirteen cents.
These changes became effective July 1st and include the rate changes announced last fall as well as changes to transmission and stranded cost rates.
Central Maine Power has proposed a rate increase that would result in a $3 a month increase for the average residential customer.
That plan is subject to approval by the Maine PUC. Deliberations are expected to take place July 29th.
