Bar Harbor is a popular tourist spot in the summer, especially on the 4th of July.

People from all over flocked in for the town’s holiday parade.

Patriotic marchers made their way through the streets of downtown Bar Harbor.

Local groups showed off their floats, some with a lot of demonstration.

Families from away say this is one of the reasons they love visiting.

“It’s marvelous. It’s a great time – a little piece of Americana,” says John Paolieo, who is visiting with his family from New Jersey.  “The kids love the candy they throw out. They like the parade, the floats.  It’s just a great place, a good family place.”

The parade isn’t the only part of the town’s holiday celebration.  They also have a seafood festival, lobster races, and fireworks.
