From the TV 5 Forecast Center:

High pressure located to the south and east of New England will continue to usher warm and humid air into the region today. We’ll see partly to mostly sunny skies today with temperatures climbing into the 80s to near 90° inland and near 80° for highs this afternoon. If you’re not a fan of humidity then it may be a bit uncomfortable for you as dewpoints are expected to climb into the upper 60s to low 70s. Skies will average partly cloudy tonight with warm and humid conditions. Temperatures will only drop to the 60s to near 70° for nighttime lows.

A weak cold front will move into the state on Wednesday providing us with a chance for some scattered showers and thunderstorms mainly during the afternoon otherwise expect a partly sunny, warm and humid day. Wednesday’s highs will top off in the 80s inland and upper 70s to near 80° along the coast. The cold front will slowly across the area Thursday again giving us a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. Due to more cloudiness over the area Thursday, temperatures will be a bit cooler with highs in the mid-70s to low 80s.  The front will move offshore during the day Friday. We could still see some showers especially near and along the coast with drier and brighter conditions inland. Cooler and less humid air will move in behind the cold front with highs in the mid-70s to near 80° Friday afternoon.

We’ll be keeping an eye on what is now Tropical Depression #1 centered off the east coast of Florida. This is expected to become Tropical Storm Arthur later today. The storm is forecast to move up the east coast and pass south and east of New England. The question is how close to New England will it come. The exact track will determine whether or not the storm impacts our weekend forecast with rain and wind. Right now, the bulk of the data keeps the storm offshore and just grazes coastal areas with some clouds and showers later Friday into Saturday. We’ll keep you posted as new data comes in. At the very least, the storm will be close enough to give us some large swells along the coast for the weekend.

Rest of Today: partly to mostly sunny, warm and humid. An isolated afternoon shower or thunderstorm possible over northern and western parts of the state. Highs between 80°-91°, coolest along the coast. South wind 5-15 MPH.

Tonight: partly cloudy, warm and muggy. Patchy fog. Lows between 63°-70°. South wind 5-10 MPH.

Wednesday: partly sunny. Scattered showers and thunderstorms possible mainly during the afternoon. Warm & humid. Highs between 76°-86°, coolest along the coast. South wind 10-15 MPH.

Friday: partly sunny and less humid. More clouds and some showers possible closer to the coast. Highs in the mid-70s to around 80°.

Saturday: partly sunny. More clouds and a chance for some shower Downeast. Highs in the 70s to near 80°.
