A Bangor law firm is working to educate employers on crime at work.

Rudman Winchell hosted a Lunch and Learn to address criminal issues that can impact the workplace.

Among topics discussed were criminal background checks and employee rights.

Speaker Anne-Marie Storey says it’s important to make sure employers are aware of issues that can impact them negatively.

“An employer has obligations to not hire somebody that they’re going to put in a position of hurting someone else, so there’s sort of this dichotomy between what we’re allowed to do and what we’re not allowed to do to protect workers, but the public employers deal with, as well,” Storey explains.

Rudman Winchell hosts regular lunch and learns on a variety of topics.
