Bangor residents expressed their love for an ill community leader in a unique way, Tuesday evening.

Locals gathered along the waterfront for a “flash mob”, dedicated to former Bangor Police Chief Don Winslow.

Winslow is living with lung cancer.

He recently stopped receiving chemotherapy treatments and entered hospice care.

A crowd of friends, family, and members of local law enforcement and emergency response units surprised Don and his wife Dora with a choreographed dance routine.

Organizer Corenna O’Brien said, “This just gives us an opportunity to show him how special he is again. None of us really know when our last day is but we need to grab that moment and just take any opportunity we can to show those who we love how much they mean to us.”

The event was organized though a private Facebook group.

Don appreciated the gesture and thanks everyone who came out.
