From the TV 5 Forecast Center:
Showers that we dealt with early this morning have now shifted into far northern Maine with a period of drier weather over much of the state as of noon time. Steadier, heavier rain has moved into southern locales and will continue to spread north and east across the state this afternoon. Rain could be heavy at times this afternoon and evening. Temperatures will be cooler than average today with highs only in the upper 50s to mid-60s this afternoon. Rain will continue, heavy at times, tonight tapering to showers late. Temperatures will be in the 50s for nighttime lows.
A cold front is expected to move through Maine Saturday morning and early afternoon. Computer models continue to slow down the progress of the front and as a result our weather looks a bit more unsettled during the day Saturday. We’ll likely see clouds and scattered showers through much of the day with some breaks in the clouds possible during the afternoon. Temperatures will be a bit milder with highs reaching the upper 60s to low 70s for most spots. A ridge of high pressure will move in on Sunday giving us a beautiful day with sunshine and highs in the 70s to near 80°. Sunny and pleasant weather will continue early next week.
Rest of Today: scattered showers possible early this afternoon then steadier rain developing as the afternoon progresses. Rain could be heavy at times. Cool with highs between 57°-67°. Southeast wind 10-20 MPH with gusts to 30 MPH possible.
