A second person has died, following Saturday’s fatal accident in Stockton Springs.

It happened on Route 1, about a mile south of the Penobscot Narrows Bridge.

Responders say one car crossed the center line and struck a second head-on.

Investigators aren’t sure what caused the crash.

44-year-old Denise Shuck was pronounced dead at the scene.

She was from out of state.

Four others were taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center and Waldo County General Hospital.

Deputies say they are local.

65-year-old Frederick Carter, a passenger in one of the cars, later died at EMMC.

A reconstruction team is working to find out what happened.

We’ll bring you more information when we have it.

Do you know the people who were involved in the accident? If not, then for the sake of the families, and the lives lost, perhaps you should use better judgment and not make hasty comments without knowing the facts. That is just cruel to the family and friends of the ones who were involved in this serious accident. 2 lives were lost…. Please people think before you post comments on here. Words hurt.
