From the TV 5 Forecast Center:

Showers will remain in our forecast today as low pressure centered to our east this morning continues to pull away from the region combines with an area of low pressure crossing through the state. We’ll see plenty of clouds and scattered showers from Bangor points north and east. Showers will be more widely scattered for cities and towns south and west of Bangor and these areas will also have the best chance to see some sunny breaks during the day today. Over the past few days, we’ve had to deal with a cool southeast wind but today winds will be from the northwest which will allow temperatures to warm up a bit today and will also dry things out enough for some breaks of sunshine  over areas south and west of Bangor. Temperatures today will be more seasonable with highs in the upper 60s to mid-70s this afternoon. Showers will wind down this evening with skies gradually clearing out from west to east across the state as the night progresses. Eastern areas will likely see clouds hang tough through night with clearing happening over much of the rest of the state.

Our weekend forecast looks brighter, drier and much warmer as a ridge of high pressure is forecast to build into the area. It looks like there will be some lingering instability on Saturday so I don’t want to rule out a shower or thunderstorm popping up during the afternoon otherwise expect a mix of sun and clouds Saturday with temperatures topping off a couple degrees either side of 80° for highs. Sunday looks even better with mostly sunny skies and highs reaching a couple degrees either side of 80°. A weak cold front will enter the state on Monday and could give us a few showers and thunderstorms mainly during the afternoon. Temperatures will remain warm Monday with highs in the mid-70s to low 80s.

Rest of Today: mostly cloudy with scattered showers. Showers will be most numerous from Bangor points north and east. Sunny breaks likely mainly for areas south and west of Bangor. Milder with highs between 67°-75°. Northwest wind 10-15 MPH.

Tonight: showers ending early then clearing skies late from west to east. Lows between 50°-55°. Northwest wind 5-10 MPH.

Saturday: mix of sun and clouds. An afternoon shower or thunderstorm possible. Warmer with highs between 77°-84°. Northwest wind around 10 MPH.

Sunday: mostly sunny and warm with highs between 76°-86°.

Monday: mostly sunny during the morning then becoming partly sunny during the afternoon. An afternoon shower or thunderstorm possible. Highs in the mid-70s to low 80s.

Tuesday: morning showers then brightening skies. Highs in the upper 60s to mid-70s.
