From the TV 5 Forecast Center:

An upper level low pressure system will move through southern Quebec towards Maine today keeping us under the clouds and scattered showers throughout the day. We’re also watching an area of low pressure passing to our south during the day. This second area of low pressure will be close enough to bring some steadier rain into cities and towns near the coast and up into interior Downeast locales this afternoon and evening. We have another cool day on tap thanks to the clouds and showers with temperatures remaining below average with highs in the upper 50s to mid-60s this afternoon. We’ll see a few showers scattered about during the night tonight along with some patchy fog as well.

Showers will remain in the forecast for Friday as upper level low pressure crosses the state. Winds will turn to the northwest on Friday which will help to dry the atmosphere out a bit and as a result could give us some breaks of sunshine in spots during the afternoon. Otherwise, most of the clearing will hold off until Friday night. Expect brighter and milder weather this weekend as a ridge of high pressure slides into the area. Computer models are hinting at some lingering instability on Saturday so I don’t want to rule out a shower or thunderstorm popping up during the afternoon otherwise expect a mix of sun and clouds Saturday with temperatures topping off near 80° for highs. Sunday looks good, featuring mostly sunny skies and highs reaching a couple degrees either side of 80°.

Rest of Today: mostly cloudy with scattered showers and patchy drizzle. Steadier rain likely closer to the coast and Downeast. Highs between 58°-67°. Southeast wind 5-10 MPH.

Tonight: mostly cloudy with a few scattered showers, patchy fog and patchy drizzle. Lows between 49°-55°. North wind 5-10 MPH.

Friday: mostly cloudy with scattered showers. A few breaks of sunshine possible during the afternoon. Highs between 67°-74°. Northwest wind 5-10 MPH.

Saturday: mix of sun and clouds. An afternoon shower or thunderstorm possible. Warmer with highs in the mid-70s to low 80s.

Sunday: mostly sunny and warm with highs in the mid-70s to low 80s.

Monday: mostly sunny during the morning then becoming partly sunny during the afternoon. An afternoon shower or thunderstorm possible. Highs in the 70s to around 80°.
